About Us

Helping businesses discover the many opportunities available in Yalobusha County is the primary goal of the Yalobusha Economic Development District (YEDD). The YEDD director and board members are ready to help enterprises that would like to explore Yalobusha County as a site for new or expanded facilities.

Services

We offer these core services for site developers and local businesses:

Identify existing properties suitable for industry needs
Serve as liaison with the county board of supervisors, municipal leaders, and the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA)
Assist in applying for grants through the MDA and other agencies
Help existing businesses acquire expansion grants from the Mississippi ACE Fund
Assist in analyzing potential incentives and tax abatements
Facilitate contacts with utility companies to provide necessary services
Work with local job centers to coordinate hiring of employees
Collaborate with nearby community colleges to provide training

Our Director

Bob Tyler, Executive Director of YEDD Bob Tyler is a former assistant coach to Johnny Vaught of Ole Miss and Paul “Bear” Bryant of Alabama. More recently, he served as Deputy Director of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks.

The YEDD Board

Members of the Yalobusha Economic Development District board are volunteers appointed by the county supervisors and the mayors of the county’s municipalities. The board hires the YEDD director and assists in seeking out suitable industries and businesses that would like to locate in an area with rural roots and a progressive attitude.
